7.10.2.2 Change of Ownership

Most commonly, a change of ownership arises from the assignment of a patent.  When processing an assignment, it is not appropriate to reconsider the entitlement of the person previously recorded as the patentee (see George Stack v State of Queensland [1996] FCA 739).
