2.3 Procedures for Updating This Manual
Processing Proposals for Changes to the Manual
The Manual Editor will manage and oversee changes to the Manual.
Internal staff may suggest changes directly via email to MDB-QEP@ipaustralia.gov.au or through lodgement in Improve@IP. External stakeholders and customers may provide feedback using the mechanisms outlined at 2.2 Customer Engagement, Quality Management and Timeliness.
Changes may be drafted by the Manual Editor, Manual Sub-editor, an Examiner, or other individual at the request of the Manual Editor. Whether specialist input is required will depend on the complexity of the changes being made.
After drafting, changes need to be submitted for the following steps:
- Review
- Approval
- Publication
The same person cannot complete two subsequent steps.
Authorised staff from the Web and Multimedia Design and Quality and Examination Practice teams are designated as reviewers, approvers and publishers. When changes are submitted for review, approval or publication the drafter should nominate an individual to sign off on those changes. Web and Multimedia Design maintain a list of authorised staff members and can be consulted if required.
Communication of Changes
Changes are communicated to internal and external stakeholders via the “Recent Changes” section of the homepage which is viewed when first logging into the Manual. These changes are also visible at 1.1 Recent Updates. These pages summarise the changes and provide links directly to the changed sections.
Any examination practice changes will also be communicated to the PBR Examination Team via email.
