10.2.2 Viewing and Managing Applications
Overview
The QP Portal only displays active applications that have been accepted and assigned to the nominated QP. Applications are not reassigned through the portal. If an application needs to be assigned to a different QP, the applicant or agent must submit a new Nomination of a Qualified Person form.
Why can’t I see one of my applications?
Applications will only appear in the QP Portal when:
the application has been accepted
you are recorded as the nominated qualified person
the application is active
Applications do not appear in the portal after grant, withdrawal or refusal.
Each application can only be assigned to one QP.
How do I assign an application to myself?
Applications cannot be reassigned through the QP Portal. IP Australia can process the assignment if the appropriate nomination has been made and approved.
To assign an application to yourself:
the applicant or their agent must submit a new Nomination of a Qualified Person form
IP Australia will assess the request
if approved, IP Australia will notify you and reassign the application in the system
How do I know when action is required?
You will be notified when an application requires action.
An email is sent once an application is accepted and assigned to you. Applications requiring action are also listed under Action required in the portal.
Status indicators include:
Pending PETA
Pending Detailed Description
Typical actions include:
drafting a PETA
editing a PETA
submitting a PETA
drafting a detailed description
editing a detailed description
submitting a detailed description
Correspondence following consideration of your PETA or detailed description will continue through existing channels.
