Date Published

Overview

The Qualified Persons (QP) Portal is accessed by QPs through Online Services and used to lodge and amend pre-examination trial agreements (PETA) and detailed descriptions.

Why can’t I see one of my applications?

Applications will only appear in the QP Portal when:

  • the application has been accepted
  • you are recorded as the nominated qualified person
  • you are using the same Online Services as your QP accreditation is linked to
  • the application is active

Applications do not appear in the portal after grant, withdrawal or refusal.

Each application can only be assigned to one QP.

How do I assign an application to myself?

Applications cannot be reassigned through the QP Portal.

To assign an application to yourself:

  • the applicant or their agent must lodge a Change of QP form; and

  • IP Australia will assess the request

if approved, IP Australia will notify you and reassign the application in the system

How do I know when action is required?

You will be notified when an application requires action.

Once an application has been accepted with you nominated as the QP, the examiner will notify you by email.

Applications requiring action are also listed under Action required in the QP portal.

Status indicators include:

  • Pending PETA
  • Pending Detailed Description

Typical actions include:

  • drafting a PETA
  • submitting a PETA
  • amending a submitted PETA
  • drafting a detailed description
  • submitting a detailed description
  • amending a submitted detailed description

Following consideration of a PETA or detailed description, correspondence will be issued in accordance with the relevant PBR examination procedures. Enquiries regarding correspondence or examination matters may be directed to pbr@ipaustralia.gov.au.
