Date Published
When this Office receives a Thailand bilateral search request, such requests are forwarded to the PCT Unit who will:
Acknowledge receipt to the Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand.
Create a bilateral task in RIO workbench, enter applicant’s details, and upload the specification plus all other relevant documents.
Identify the most likely exam section based on IPC/subject matter provided.
Email the supervising examiner of the relevant examination section with:
An application number
The due date (10 weeks from the request date)
A request to perform a search and examination based on the application filed
The Supervising examiner will then allocate/assign the task to an examiner and advise the PCT unit who the examiner will be.
Bilateral Examination is processed in RIO/Smart IQ (Intelledox). Instructions for examiners can be found in RIO - Processing Bilateral Application Tasks.
